Follow in the footsteps of Bishop Gundulf

With a visit to the cathedral and castle. Gundulf, a Norman monk came to England following the Conquest and was appointed Bishop of Rochester in 1075. He built several castles, including Rochester, Colchester, the White Tower of the Tower of London and the Priory and Cathedral Church of Rochester.

Founded in 604AD, the cathedral is the second oldest in England and been a place of worship for 1400 years. Rochester castle is one of the best preserved and finest examples of Norman architecture in England. Spectacular views of the area can be enjoyed from the castle's keep.
