Many of the buildings that can been seen today in Rochester featured in the works of Charles Dickens. Start your day by calling at the Medway Visitor Information Centre and pick up a copy of ‘In Dickens Footsteps’ walking trail leaflet with map for only £1 to explore the places that were an inspiration to this great British author in his works.
After lunch explore the many heritage attractions that feature in the works of Dickens' including Six Poor Travellers’ House, Guildhall Museum, Restoration House and Eastgate House and gardens. In Eastgate gardens stands proudly Dickens’ chalet that was once sited at his home at Gad’s Hill Place, near Rochester. Admission fee applies to Restoration House and Eastgate House.
